Jenni Greenwood was a previous fine art student at Chester university and has become a member of the university's alumni. Jenni has been extremely successful and hardworking throughout her student life into her current career as an interior designer. This level of success and achievement can be seen on Chanel four's program "Britains most expensive home" which Jenni worked on as a designer and project manner.
After listing to Jenni and seeing some of her work on a powerpoint presentation, it really began to resonate with me how similar we were. When I say this I am referring to her love of all forms of art and design, her drive and passion to work longer hours than just a regular 9 to 5 as well as her early interest for interiors, furnishings and room layouts. These interests are exactly like mine and because of this I think it is useful that she has given us her instagram link and email in order to contact her if we wanted further information, which I have decided to do.
I have contacted her in order to see how she transferred the skills that she had learnt within fine art into interior design because when I was looking at an interior design masters in Manchester I was told that it wouldn't be possible for a fine artist to do this. They stated this because they believe fine art students don't have the fundamental skills to achieve the desired outcomes for a masters course in a design program that relies heavily on computer added software as well as planning rules and regulations. This will be valuable information for me to obtain because I am not only looking at jobs that are within fine art I am looking at design work to more importantly interior design.
Overall Jenni Greenwood's talk was the most valuable in my circumstance as I could really relate to what she was saying throughout her presentation. It was unfortunate that we could not meet her due to Covid-19, but under the circumstances I think the information we were given, the presentation and images we were sent fulfilled everything I needed to know in a clear manner.
Example of Jenni greenwood's work below that she and the company she worked for had achieved 5 wards designing.
