Sian is a UK based artist, curator and publisher she has worked on multiple projects throughout her career, one of her most significant projects was TRACE which was established in 1999 which she curated and published. Since she TRACE and its success she has also participated in the curation of over 250 images produced by UK graduate photographers that are sent to the international photography festival held every summer in china, she has been participating in this since since 2014.
Not only has she been a big part of the world of curation she has also take part in multiple portfolio reviews at international photography festivals along with judging major compositions such as the Jerwood photography prize and so on...
Sian's photography work has also been held in many institutions such as: the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Fine Art and many, many more...
After listening to Sian speak I have gained a greater understanding into a practice and areas that I have never really considered before. It has helped me to understand how all art subject and areas can help one another along with the idea that you can be much more than just a Fine artist, photographer, graphic designer you can have multiple roles at once within the art industry.
Beyond this I don't really connect with the work she creates it is fun to observe and often quirky and unusual but my aesthetics and the way I approach my creative practice is extremely different.
